5 meo mipt is a psychedelic drug that is a potent hallucinogen, commonly known as moxy.

5-MeO-MiPT is in a class of compounds commonly known as tryptamines, and It has a similar structure to 5-MeO-DMT. The full name of the chemical is 5-methoxy-N-methyl-N-isopropyltryptamine.

The 5 meo mipt molecule has a five member ring with a methyl group attached to the nitrogen atom. The 5 meo mipt molecule is a partial agonist at the 5-HT2A serotonin receptor.

It is commonly used as a "substitute" for 5-MeO-DiPT because of the very similar structure and effects.

The synthesis and pharmacology of 5-MeO-MiPT was first reported in 1985 by David Repke and the legendary Alexander Shulgin.

Its effects were documented in Shulgin's book TiHKAL ("Tryptamines I Have Known and Loved").
